I have this problem with my PSP where if I bump it or touch it to hard it shuts off, It is very infriatign when I am playing a game and I tap the back of my psp a little to hard and it shuts off. Is sendign it in to Sony for repair out of the question now that I have CFW and DX64 on it? Is there a way I can fix it myself? Anyone else have this problem? It is a result of me being clumsy and dropping it one to many times.

Your battery may be too loose.
Try inserting a layer of whatever you want between the battery and the cover to keep it in contact with the PSP.

Use tape to tape the battery to the psp. Then use tape also to tape the battery door to the psp. Make sure the battery door is securely fastened.

I would at least try the few battery fixes suggested by a few posters above, even though the battery fits in the PSP tightly doesn't mean the battery contacts are making the proper contact. There are 3 contact points on the battery and if any one of them develop a dead spot (loosing contact in a certain position even though its making contact) having corrosion on the contacts, having dirt on the contacts, or just being loose it will do what your explaining.

What i would (if the battery fix dont work) do is take it apart an see if anything is loose or somehow shorting out (only if your able to and knowledgeable enough to do so).

A friend of mine had the same problem. He got the same recommendations as you are now, and after attempting them his PSP didn't have the issue again.

Cause SONY and the other companies out there usually actually sells their hardware cheaper than what it is to make them, but then they over price the software to compensate for the cheap hardware, but SONY assumes that if anyone is capable of using CFW then they're pirating SONY's UMD games, so therefore SONY isn't making any money at all off that person. They replace the mother board with an unhackable one so it'll be a bit harder for the person to run ISOs and such on it.

I used to do that and found out the hard way that it just makes the problem worse. the plastic tabs on the battery door get stretched over time from something being stuffed between it and the battery, so once the paper or tape is taken out, the door will be more loose.

to check if this is the problem you're experiencing, remove your battery door and hold it with the hole on the right side, and the bulge facing away from you (the same position it would be in if you were using the PSP). Now, look at the top skinny area and there should be a little tab of plastic that looks like a backwards capital L (like this: _| )

if the bottom part of that L is missing, the top half of your battery door can literally lift off of your PSP without sliding to the right first.

this is one of many "small" problems i was starting to experience that convinced me to get a slim.

Well I have a slim, what your describing sounds like a phat. On slims the batter door doesn't slide before taking it off, it has a button that opens it.

But my next problem is that my UMD Door is busted from dropping it, only oen side is attached and I have to close it just right to close in place, Is there anywhere to buy the battery door so I can replace it?

You can buy and after repair part like a battery door cover and a few other things.
Here's a link I Googled to see what I mean, but you might want to ask others about places for good prices: http://www.consoleshop.com/home.php?cat=292

You can find quite a few places that sell PSP replacement parts.

That is whats good about deal extreme, they sell just about any part you would need to replace. but the bad thing is that it takes a while to ship. you just have to make sure you read the reviews before you buy, and it does requires paypal. just stay away from the PSP batteries because they are junk.
