Basically its a clear screen function, not too sure how often it does so, maybe every frame, as in Hot Wheels as mentioned, its stops the screen ending up in a right mess, but does slow emulation down somewhat!!!! Hopefully that makes sense.

Try reading this: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2379@@Reamer: Might be good idea to link it or add it in your FAQ? @@KingPepper: Yep is only done once per frame (Doing it more than that doesn't make sense BTW) PS(1):It shouldn't slow down, while clearing the screen is indeed relative expensive, it shouldn't slow down since is only done once per frame and is done in hardware. PS(2): Since 741, we clear the screen the same way the N64 does (as explained in the N64 function reference manual), so you shouldn't need to use clean scene, only for a few weird games like Hot Wheels.

This is the first time I've ever seen someone not know what clean scene is. I've been thinking of adding a new thread with explanations of each of the emulator's options to the best of my knowledge. Though I will be writing it based on personal experience with the emulator and may not be technically correct. I've been avoiding commitment since I've been heavily burdened with husband and father duties and plus a longing to complete Mass Effect 2 again as soon as possible... (It's already been a month since I started the new ME2 play through and I'm still trying to find time to finish.)

If you write a new one then post it in tester section so I can have a look and read it through. The current one while mostly good it has some errors, some options are missing and some are obsolete... I might do it myself if I get the time...
