I'm curious if I'm able to use the d-pad instead of the analog stick, as I prefer to use the d-pad on quite a few titles. If there is a way, I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

Hi there, try this some games work using this method, when emulator first starts up, select game of your choice, select edit preferences scroll down to Controller, press right on Dpad to select Dpad or Dpad and Buttons instead of Default, if you see what i mean, try that for now, there is a more advanced way of making a new setup of all the buttons, the necessary .ini files are found in the controllerconfigs folder in the main DaedalusX64 folder.

Here is an example of how the keys are laid out in the Dpad.ini file:-

Name=DPad
Description=By default the PSP DPad maps to the N64 DPad. Hold Circle to map to the CButtons.

[Buttons]
N64.Start = PSP.Start
N64.A = PSP.Cross
N64.B = PSP.Square
N64.Z = PSP.Triangle
N64.LTrigger = PSP.LTrigger
N64.RTrigger = PSP.RTrigger
N64.Up = !PSP.Circle & PSP.Up
N64.Down = !PSP.Circle & PSP.Down
N64.Left = !PSP.Circle & PSP.Left
N64.Right = !PSP.Circle & PSP.Right
N64.CUp = PSP.Circle & PSP.Up
N64.CDown = PSP.Circle & PSP.Down
N64.CLeft = PSP.Circle & PSP.Left
N64.CRight = PSP.Circle & PSP.Right

As you can see its possible to change keys around, most useful for certain types of games.
Hope that helps you, and welcome to the DaedalusX64 forums. 8)

I've actually tried every default control scheme to no avail, and nothing seems to be working for me. I'm specifically looking for a way to control Link in OoT with the d-pad instead, as the controls were too inaccurate with the analog stick on my last play-through. If it's possible, would you mind creating an ini-file/control scheme for me that would allow it? I appreciate your help, and thanks for the warm welcome.

Also, if anybody else can do the same, please do.

Thanks for trying. There has to be a way to use the d-pad though... Hopefully somebody else will have an answer for me.

Then hopefully the developers are throwing in a customizable control feature in the next update. I hope to see it's release soon. ;)

I've waited months for the new update to come out hoping that I could use the d-pad instead, and now that it's finally out, I haven't seen or heard anything about it being possible yet. Hopefully I'm wrong?

Well now that's possible in the latest rev (rev783).

I've already included a controller config that does this in the current release.

Name=Gamecube Style Joypad with C Buttons
Description=Dpad acts as the N64 Joystick. Triangle and Circle act as C Left and C Right respectively. Analog Stick acts as all the C buttons, but hold the Select button to use as N64 Dpad. Use Note button as the L button.

Or you can use PSP Joystick as N64 Dpad control scheme so you can play while the N64 Joystick is mapped to the PSP Dpad.
