Just for the funny and a frame of reference:
http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/18/visualized-the-glamorous-lifestyles-of-wp7-jailbreakers/
It's linked to on GeoHotz's website... I find it to be the funniest thing I've read in the past few days.

Now on to the discussion:
Sony builds a wall with a door and a key, someone breaks in and they sue. MS built walls and a door and a key, someone breaks in and they they invite them in for coffee and ask "How did you do it so we can make a better lock?" (99% of Windows hacking related bugs are reported by "gray hat" hackers for those that know what I mean.)

Back in the old pre-anti-trust (forced IE/MSN usage) days of MS I hated them with a passion. You wouldn't have ever caught me paying them for anything I couldn't get elsewhere. Now, I own an XBOX Live account and regularly pay them money. I haven't hacked my 360. Why? There's no reason for me too. (See below)

Sony = No chance of an indie dev working with the PS3. (Cost prohibitive, you have to buy a PS3 dev kit)
MS = Gives me FREE Visual Studio Express, XNA(the SDK for homebrew devs to make games), and even has several parts of there own website devoted to tutorial on how to do it. Then allows them to publish the games (for profit even) on the XBOX Live market place. (P.S. I may port the XBOX version of Daedalus to the 360 one day, but alas only for hacked consoles or one linked to my own personal Live account :( )

On top of that using Windows Media Center and Real-Time trans-coding software I can play ANY video on my 360 that my PC can play. Instead of taking away my features they seem to keep giving me more. I now use my 360 more than any other console I own. I only have a PS3 for Blu-Ray and a few exclusive titles(and previously to help learn Linux, still pissed at Sony about that one). PSP titles are mostly crap. I got my PSP specifically for emulation of older hardware for nostalgia purposes(If I wasn't able hack it I wouldn't have bought it, had a FlashCart+GBA before my PSP replaced it). I've bought only 3 PSP titles (Yes, even with CFW I buy my games.)

This was a very interesting reading, didn't comment before because I think you said it all. As for the second post... just LMAO. I love how Sony always finds innovative ways to fail.

I haven't been online on my 360 for gaming in a long while (I use it more for Netflix.)
