Kirby 64 is one of the best Kirby games and its very stable! With the right settings, it has decent speed and no crashing, but there is still a problem.

Sometimes, when using an ability, Kirby gets stuck in place. The game doesn't freeze but Kirby does.

Also the boss in Rock Star gets stuck too.

try the new rev 747 with the following settings...
texture update check:every 15 frames
frameskip:auto 1,or auto 2
audio:sync
controller:Dpad
tell me if it works.....

Any ideas for Rev 736? I don't think one rev update would fix this. (though I'd love to try) Besides I had this problem multiple revs ago. I think it's either a settings or ROM problem.

I would suggest to use async audio instead of sync, it makes the animations and HUD work in Kirby, at the risk of being more unstable of course, just make sure to savestate often.

YEAH! i had the same problem,kirby froze in the first level after getting out of this one cabin,he just froze and stopped moving,and the music and enemies were moving freely lol,any solution for this problem yet ?

We kind of need more information on what settings you were using. If this happens again we really could use a savestate.

here is the save state file for kirby 64 freezes,and also some images for kirby freezing,after he freezes,if he gets hit by an enemy he moves again,but not for long then he freezes again...
my settings:
tuc:everyframe
framskip:auto 1
controller:dpad
video rate match: yes



ps :i also uploaded a pic or two for some of these bad bugs in the game....
hope these help! :)

is this one of the issues going to be fixed in the revision thats coming out? please say yes :D

Don't enable -> TUC:everyframe for games unless its really needed! (in most games its not)
Not only is it not necessary but it actually will slow the game down a bit.

Same goes for -> Video rate match: yes
It not useful as far as I know in Kirby since its already in full speed.
In same games it actually makes it slower

yeah but how does the speed have anything to do with kirby freezing?i didnt get a direct answer to my question ???

so you say that i shouldnt use video rate match?
and that it can make some games run slower?
what games is it used for then to be exact

and i tried kirby 64 disabling tuc and i also disabled video rate match but i got the same problem.......

im pretty sure that the issue with kirby getting stuck is a dynarec/cpu bug and wont be fixed completely for a while. theres also a bug with the second planet final boss that makes it impossible to beat.
