Post subject: Why can't i enter cheats without it freezing?

Ok, so i was thinking about adding some cheats to Super Mario 64, and I go and look at gameshark codes and set them like this:
Play as potato,=0,8134B89C-8019
& when i turn it on during gameplay, it freezes! Could I even be able to use the gameshark cheats on it?
(It is normally like: 8134B89C 8019 Play as potato) Help?

im assuming super mario 64 but what version? like E or U? (europe or usa)

That isn't a valid gameshark code..No wonder it crashes the emulator. Also that cheat isn't formatted correctly for Daedalus. Please read the Cheat FAQ first. Look here for the complete code! http://www.supercheats.com/nintendo64/s ... 4codes.htm
