Your settings sound good, only tip I can give is setting frameskip to auto 1 and turning off clean scene since is not needed for Zelda, and lastly set texture update to every 10 frames (don't worry it won't slow you down any bit).

As for your question, it depends the area where you are.
I highly recommend if you are in the first are to skip since is the slowest place in OOT (with the help of a pc emulator or any existing savestate) directly to the deku tree and continue from there.

Texture update set to Every 10 Frames will help fix the text. Clean scene hardly costs anything, but isn't needed for OoT. Also no need to use force nearest as it has no speed difference from using the Standard N64 method (that setting is pure preference). Also OSHLE (High Level Emulation) can provide a speed-up at the risk of more lock-ups.

Other things to consider:
Make sure all external plug-ins are disabled
Defragmenting your memory stick has been known to boost FPS slightly (remember to back it up first.)
Kokiri Forest(the starting area) a Salvy said is one of the slowest areas in the game and most temples will be much faster.

thanks. Im not sure if i like auto 1 for frame skip though because it makes the game really jerky at times. Thanks for your help though.

Auto is smoother than FS1 when FPS is higher(by skipping fewer frames as needed).

Exactly, if the rom's framerate is less than ~96% sync it will always frameskip.
Pretty much makes gameplay smoother in games like Mario 64, where FPS are high already.

OOT runs quite well for me, even before Beta 3 (B3U!) I only had problems before leaving the deku tree. I had to make a savestate almost every 5 minutes to keep it from freezing on me.

Hello all

I'm new to the site, first and formost thank you all for your work on Daedalus!!

I have a psp go with OFW 6.37, currently I'm using a signed version of beta 3 update. games like super mario, mario cart work excelent but Oot i'm having some trouble with.

I'm using oot v 1.2 (U)!

settings:
Texture update every frame
frameskip auto 1
zoom 100%
limit frame rate no
dynamic recompilation enabled
dynamic stack optimisation disabled
hle diabled
audio disabled
controller Z L swap

memory access disabled
clean scene enabled
dynamic loop optimisation disabled
double display lists enabled
audio rate match no
fog disabled

Whats happening is; the game is running smoothly from 12-22 fps, sync is off sometimes as low as 40's. it will freeze when fighting enemys like hanging skultulas or even the skeletons in hyrule field. it freezes when entering the castle courtyard from the field, or even whan talking to other charecters. honestly it will freeze when i hit the home button to perform a save state. is there any way to make this more stable...or is this the extent of what it is? really i would like to keep the frame rate above ten. the game is almost 100% stable if i turn off dynamic recompilation....but the fps go down to like 4...

Hope you guys can help

P.S.

(I run all of my other emulators through an HBL, that runs fantastic)
