Hey people. I've just discover how to speed up Super Mario 64 and maybe other roms. First download the Super Mario 64 Rom Extender (latest version 1.3b for windows). Second extend the Super Mario 64 rom from the program. Then put it on your PSP. Just for help, after the extention, your file will be called: Super Mario 64 ext.z64. You'il se about 2-4fps more from the original rom. And I could see that if you decompress (extend) any rom it maybe speed up. This report goes for Daedalusx64: If you thank that the game is faster, well you could maybe create a program that extend the rom so the games or roms could go faster. Please! I've figured that .n64 files goes 1-2fps or even 6fps (Super Smash Bros) in some games. (If you want to try, changing .z64 to .n64 well just change the file name). Does this help for the speed of the games?

That's what I'm trying to tell you guys. If you decompress any rom it maybe can get a little more boost on games. So the only thing that you can extend is Super Mario 64. loveyy and others try to play the extended Mario rom on the PSP and tell me if it is faster, even if it's 1fps faster. (Do not relay in somebody's others choices, about what they see. Please this may help Daedalusx64 on the games speed. If this works maybe somebody will create an extender for couple of N64 rom. What do I think is that it is 3-4fps faster. That's actually very good. ex: I see that when mario is saying hello and you could control with his hand this is the speed. Super Mario 64: 19.5fps - 23.2fps Super Mario 64 Extended: 24fps - 26.7fps That is the truth.

With Default settings + FS 1 + Memory Access and Loop Opt, I get 26-28fps in that scene. I have to agree that Mario 64 extender tool which is suggested in this thread does decompresses the ROM vs the tool I posted which didn't decompressed at all and just added dummy data to increase the size of the ROM, so I can't allege that you are wrong in your findings, but I can't agree with your results posted since the speed factor we have is due emulating in the N64 CPU and not I/O access (reading off the ROM), that's what I think decompressing the ROM would help?? (Anyways our ROM cache technology is really good, even when it only uses 2Mbs of memory for PHAT, the overhead is really low and most of it happens when loading a scene for the first time ex a new level in SM64). We'll be introducing a new option in the next rev that will allow you to load the entire ROM into the RAM (as long you have a PSP SLIM+ and the ROM is smaller than 32Mbs) which is the fastest way that we can read off from the ROM). Also Daedalus does some optimizations when the ROM data is fixed. (aka is loaded completely into RAM)

ok well after testing i got this is what i got: -with the normal sm64(non extended,i got 28 fps.(with speed hack that salvy mentioned that i never new of lol,i got 30 fps and also made it to 31 fps) -with the extended sm64 rom i got 25 fps and nothing more...... sorry to hit it to ya but the normal rom with the speed hack,it runs better than the extended one.

Are you sure the extended rom you were using wasn't PAL instead of US? Amin0152 wrote: What the..., can you send me a link from this speed hack as soon as possible please.
