My Submission for the Daedalus Eboot contest.
and some things that go with it. Enjoy! ^_^

File comment: I wasn't particularly interested in coloring this after the girl, but it really shows through on this. I based this character off of me from the red hat, down to the 90's sweater belt fashion statement. Speaking of the 90's fashion, I wanted his clothes to reflect the period of which the N64 was first released. I went to old N64 commercials for reference...
I think I'll use him for something later...

File comment: She's carrying around an N64, But I didn't feel up to the task of drawing an N64 flying out of her bag. So instead, I Just drew the controller.
If I had to give this a title, it'd be "Daedalus in a mini skirt," But I can't think of a name that really suits her quite yet. For Now I'm calling her Daedalus Girl...can you guys think of a better Name?

File comment: Took a little tweaking to get it just right...but I personally love the original Icon. It's so sleek...

File comment: Phew, Glad I made the dead line...Well, Drew up these characters based off of what I think a "typical" DaedalusX64 enthusiast would look like!
It's a bit experimental, and the B-3 is open a bit vague, but I figured if you already support the project, then the abbreviation should be obvious...It's my first time making an eboot, and I can't wait to see how it holds it's own in the competition. Oh, and thank you Daedalus Developers for the grand opportunity to take part in this project. The goal only amounts to the hard work it took to get you there. For all of the long hours spent perfecting this project, you all have my thanks.

That's up to Salvy/Corn they are in charge of this release as they've done most of the work since R636.

I just had a mad idea, is it possible to change the PIC1 image while running the emulator itself?, by that i mean when exiting out of DaedalusX64, it then replaces the present image with 1 of 4 other pictures stored with the emulator, that way we could have the top 4 PIC1 pictures displayed when we load up daedalusX64 next time, coding wise is probably going to be extremely difficult to achieve if at all possible.

Just an idea i wanted to throw out there. :-\

Not possible currently AFAIK. Pic0 gets embedded directly into the eboot. It would have to be unpacked and then repacked for that to work.

Thanks You Guys ;D ! I gotta admit, the day I heard there was gunna be a Daedalus x64 art contest, I really though hard about concepts I could apply to that 480 x 272 screen. I think I reached a nice balance between the Icon and the Background, but it took a few tries to match the color, and the length of the Icon to the background. I was also going to make separate eboots with the separate characters, but then I realized that I might've start some some theme like, "This eboots for boys, and this ones for girls." So I scrapped that and just included them both in the one...

DaedalusX64 is a consistent joy in my life. It's the one thing I could look forward too every Sunday without finding a vest. I've been following it since the post Froggy revisions, and I've never found myself un amazed by the leaps and bounds in progress since then. I just hope that the N64 legacy continues to flourish through the great, combined efforts of all the DeadalusX64 Developers.

Speaking of the Dx64 scene, Kreation and Misfit. Ever since I can remember visiting this site the first time, your names have been every where!!! I can almost not find a post that hasn't been commented by one or the other. Are you guys Admins for Dx64, or what?

Ooops, was planning a short answer as not to hijack this thread, but....

About the DX64 and the people behind it currently:
I am the site owner. I'm also in charge of the Original Daedalus project for the PC which I will be restoring once I finish getting it merged properly with our current code. I've been a part of DaedalusX64.com since day one and was the first coder to add progress to it after Strmnnrmn left for about year. He has since handed the day to day operation of the original project over to me. Salv-E is second on the list a major dev contributor along with Corn (not as active in the forum, but constantly working with Salv-E on the code). Linkinkid acts as our day to day admin handling some of the site maintenance along with our mods(basically acts as a Moderator with admin powers as me and Salvy handle things like upgrades, etc..) Wally is still around and helping with blends lately (He and CM4 released to respective version of R14 way back before this site started which where compiled versions of the original SVN). He has also been here since day one as well. There have been devs work on this project by contributing code or helping answer questions ranging in age from 13 to over 40(NBoy was 13 when he started on it, I'm 31 and at least 2 devs are older than me) and from at least 9 countries(France, Italy, Australia, USA, Spain, U.K., China, and New Zealand, and at least one in S. America and that's just what I can remember off the top of my head and doesn't include any devs from before the PSP days that haven't contributed to DX64 since the PC projected stopped 7 years ago.) on at least 5 continents.

I've tried to be as open and helpful to those that want to contribute. Shinydude100 was the first to announce he was going to work on the project, but didn't even know how to compile it, much less code. I helped him get up and running and showed him the basics of blend modes. With the code coming in Beta 3 Blends have become extremely simple to work on now and many can be done automatically now by the emu that couldn't be before.

This is just a small project and site in the grand scheme of things, but I myself have been constantly amazed at the scope of it. WE have had over 100K users and that is a very low end estimate.

It should work perfectly as Hen is pretty much the same as having CFW, please refrain from posting offtopic posts here ;)

Woot great job, I love the originally of your art, abit of feedback here:
1- Daedalus logo might look better if is moved somewhere? ex left-down part? it looks kind of crowded between the characters
2 Maybe change abit the B word? it looks abit like 13

Other than I love the colors chosen, characters' design, and icon0 :3

@@Everybody : Great entries all!! Deadline is tomorrow (21st) before 12:00 AM.
