I've heard a while back in "psp2 processor" that there are two processors for the psp I already knew there were 2 processors but they said that the 2nd processor can be used to take advantage of the speed in daedalus im not sure how fast the other processor is but if there was someway a new revision could be made to take advantage of this 2nd processor im sure we would see faster game play and if not full speed im sure it will still be playable I mean it will be faster than what it is now im sure.

there waaaay ahead of you. its used for sound. there is synchronous audio and there is asynchronous audio. the second one uses the media engine. (ME) now before you go off asking if we can hack into the me to use it for more the audio... it has been tried. but they gave up, or its not complete. there hasn't been any news on it for a long time so im going to assume it was just to complicated. but that does not mean its impossible.

The psp has 64mb of ram and lol I already have project 64 for the pc the recommended speed of the cpu to run ultrahle is 300 mhz the psp is clocked at 333mhz but games on ultrahle were going fast they were playable on slow processors that clocked at lower speeds than the psp's cpu and they still went faster than the psp.

ya i noticed. that when i read it. (vagita) its mind bottling... maybe it has to do with the drivers. its power could be... OVER 9000!!!!

PSP CPU CORE
MIPS R4000 32bit Core
128bit Bus
1 - 333MHz @ 1.2V
Main Memory :8MB(eDRAM)
Bus Bandwidth :2.6GB/sec
I-Cache, D-Cache
FPU, VFPU (Vector Unit) @ 2.6GFlops
3D-CG Extended Instructions

PSP Media Engine
MIPS R4000 32bit Core
128bit Bus
1 - 333MHz @ 1.2V
Sub Memory:2MB(eDRAM) @ 2.6GB/sec
I-Cache, D-Cache
90nm CMOS

PSP Graphics Core 1
3D Curved Surface + 3D Polygon
Compressed Texture
Hardware Clipping, Morphing, Bone(8)
Hardware Tessellator
Bezier, B-Spline(NURBS)
ex 4x4, 16x16, 64x64 sub-division

PSP Graphics Core 2
'Rendering Engine' + 'Surface Engine'
256bit Bus, 1-166 MHz @ 1.2V
VRAM :2MB(eDRAM)
Bus Bandwidth :5.3GB/sec
Pixel Fill Rate :664 M pixels/sec
max 33 M polygon /sec(T&L)
24bit Full Color:RGBA

If there was a way to take advantageof the 2nd core I believe emulation would reach very desirable speeds that's 666mhz all together and project 64 recommendations are 700mhz 666mhz would be fast enough. I cant find the speed of the Voodoo2/Banshee Based 3DFX Card but im sure it's extremely slow and it's so old I think the psp's gpu may be more powerful cus because the cpu is more powerful.

http://www.techspot.com/reviews/hardware/voodoo3-3000/ Go to this site the gpu is clocked at 166mhz.

ya i believe zelda could reach full speed. but with games like golden eye. we need that second cpu power for more then just sound. and lets say 1 day daedalus gets it to work. i think we will have alote of problems. its unstable with the sound. witch is what its used for. imagine if we try using it to run something its not made for. I believe were gonna need alote of bug spray. if you know what i mean.

I was amazed when I read that zelda was going fullspeed with sound on an old pentium II at 300mhz and we have and old pc with a penium clocked at 350mhz and ima see how fast ultrahle runs on it and if it runs like the site said it did then im really gonna be amazed and games like goldon eye wont reach full speeds like you said but games like zelda and super smash bros I believe will run at desirable speeds even if they dont go full speed just atleast close to full speed will be playable I had super smash bros runnin 50 out of 60 fps on my psp. I can play n64 games without sound if desirable speeds were met then and if daedalus does reach full speed just imagine how the next thing we're gonna worry about is sound. lol

I know why it went faster now (Direct x).

All the articles I've read about the ME shows that it isn't reliable to code for. Kreationz was going to have part of the main cpu code run off the ME but it proved to be extremely unreliable. The ME is more reliable if your just asking it to process audio/video codes (graphical code is different), since that's what it's there for, but even then for homebrew it's not been very easy to work with. It doesn't let you debug code running on it so you can't tell what's causing a crash, a big problem kreationz had.
